Flax and linen fiber
Flax is the plant that linen comes from, and spinning it is a different craft from spinning wool. It has almost no stretch, a cool smooth handle and real strength, and it softens and gains character with every wash, which is why linen sheets and towels last for generations.
We stock flax top in natural, with its warm golden tone, and bleached for a paler base that takes dye cleanly. If you'd rather ease in, the Pisces colorway blends merino with bleached flax so it drafts more like wool while keeping flax's crisp finish.
Flax takes fiber reactive dyes such as Procion MX rather than the acid dyes used for wool, and we carry those as well.
