Shropshire wool top
Shropshire is an English Down breed, and its wool behaves the way Down wools do: matte rather than shiny, with a fine dense crimp and a lively springiness. That bounce gives crisp stitch definition and yarn that holds its shape, and because Down wools resist felting it's a sensible pick for socks, sweaters and anything headed for the wash.
We stock Shropshire combed top undyed in ecru, ready to spin as it is or to dye from a clean base.
